THE TEEMA STORY

OUR ROOTS

Nestled deep in the rolling hills of northern Thailand, there is a special place, a haven where change is happening every day. A resilient group of women decided to do things differently in a business dominated by men for hundreds of years. They gathered their resources, took back their power, and began growing tea. They plant tea seeds and harvest real change for their families.

Teema Teas began when a father started to worry about his two young girls. His daughters were growing up in a world that tells them they’re unequal. He searched for a place where women knew their strength, took charge of their lives, and watched out for one another. He found it in Thailand. He launched Teema to bring the vision of these women to the rest of the world.

Now rooted in the Texas Hill Country of Austin, Texas, we carry forward the philanthropic mission of TEEMA TEAS. Inspired by the influential women in his life, CEO and tea connoisseur Stewart found healing through nature, holistic wellness, and—of course—tea. These experiences deepened his awareness of global injustices and sparked a passion for driving change through creativity. Today, he remains devoted to TEEMA TEAS’ mission: advocating for every woman's right to shape their own future. With a steadfast commitment to social impact, he also works to educate communities on the rich cultural and historical significance of tea.

Teema means origin. It is the origin of hope, of love, of quality, of change. In a world of oppression, there is a place where women have taken back their power, invested in their own lives and the lives of their families. You can access this place and support these women when you drink Teema. It’s not a myth. It’s real. And you can taste it.

You can call me Stew. My Master's degree is in goofing around, dog walking and taking it easy. With a Bachelor's degree in Art and Anthropology I had to do something, so I worked as an Outdoor Guide, rafting rivers, zip-lining through trees and learning about the wonderful world of plants. The love for tea has been an ever evolving part of our lives. When not in the office, you can usually  find me outside with a paddle or fishing pole in my hand and a silly husky running around somewhere nearby. TEEMA brings continued learning, inspiration, community involvement, and overall health. Each and every tea has its own character and benefits. We like every tea from the farm in Thailand and I particularly enjoy Ginseng Pearl Oolong and Moringa Green Tea.
